​• Chronological overview of major concepts in U.S. history

Essential Question: Were the colonists response to post French and Indian War taxes and declarations by the British justified? (propaganda, demonstrations, editorials). 

Monday 08/19 

Objective: Students will introduce themselves and get to know class procedures and policies 

Tasks: 1) Course Info/Rules and Procedures/Expectations

2) Create name tents-Draw Interests (on same side as name)-Answer Question-Share out with table mates.

Journal-Image of American Culture 

Objective: Students will analyze Stamp Act artifacts and predict their historical significance on the American Revolution

1) Tent Cards 

2) Stamp Act Analysis

Quick Write: Based upon the artifacts, how was the Stamp Act received in the colonies? Use claim-evidence-analysis 

3) As a group-put the acts in order

Individually-write a one sentence summary of the purpose of every act passed by Parliament.

Quick Write: What was England trying to accomplish with these acts? Use a claim-evidence-analysis 

4) Project Research Time-Share what you want to cover with partners
