Warm-up: Why did the US enter WWI? 

Objective: Students will analyze the role of the United States in the peace treaty and its retreat into decades of isolationism.

2) While, Ultimately, Therefore-Was Wilson actually a  proponent of the freedoms expressed in his 14 points?

Objective: Students will analyze how the Great Depression shaped American foreign policy during the 1930's.

Warm-up: Why did the US turn to isolationism? 

Objective: Students will examine how the US began to break away from Isolationism under FDR's presidency.

Objective: Students will examine the impact of propaganda on the American war effort.

Objective: Students will examine how the war was fought to determine post WWII foreign policy and the rise of interventionism.

Objective: Students will examine how interventionist policy lead to the first "hot" conflict of the Cold War.

Warm-Up: Describe the Berlin Blockade, Airlift, and Building of the Wall

Objective: Students will analyze how foreign actions can scare our domestic population by analyzing the Red Scares.

Objective: Students will examine how Brinksmanship was a guiding interventionist policy until we almost blew up the world during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Objective: Students will explain the role of media and protests in ending the Vietnam War and their contributions to the loss.

Objective: Students will examine the cooling off of the Cold War and the attempted break in interventionist policy and how the Cold War came to an end

Objective: Students will examine how the U2 Spy Plane torpedoed the possibility of Detente in the 60's and how espionage was a legitimate part of the Cold War.

Task: 1) Watch Bridge of Spies-Fill out Video Questions. 

Objective: Students will create Cold War Timelines that reflect how the Cold War was colder or hotter depending on decade.
